Have you ever see The Emperor Building in Forbidden City China? if you are unlucky, this is another miniature of this great place : The Emperor stool from Stil Novo Design. Faithful to the idea of using cheap material without cheap appearance, the designer took recycled white oak wood from French wine barrel to create that oriental chair.
The perfection, comfortable and sophisticated look have been joined in harmony in this wooden stool. I love the fact that Stil Novo Design able to help the environment by recycling the raw material and to turn it into an object of ‘practical elegance’ at the same time.
By using the natural arch of a barrel stave the designer able to create this particularly attractive silhouette of definite oriental flavor. The top and the sides are stained with the red wine previously held in the barrel and complemented with a rich cherry chocolate finish. As no barrel band is the same, each piece might show natural imperfections, slight variations in color, grain & dimensions, all adding to the uniqueness of every item. Each one is individually handcrafted sanded back to its original wood and creatively reinvented. With measurements about 12”X16” (top) and 14” (height), this art piece will make great oriental statement to any room.
So guys, if you are celebrating Imlek this day, this Emperor Asian stool will give you a lot of prosperity. Visit Etsy to get some of them.
