Smooth Artistic TriWing Chair by Marco Hemmerling

The first thing that capture my attention is the smoothness given by this chair by Marco Hemmerling. Dubbed TriWing, these artistic chairs has three sides and they can be transformed into chair and a low chair. The smoothness given by these modern artistic chairs are almost near to minimalist approach. The curves on the chairs are very much sculptural. For some it’s more like sculptural piece. It’s an artistic chair, but to others like me it’s kind of both minimalist and sculptural. Here’s more from Marco Hemmerling on this chair:

“TriWing integrates four different sitting postures in one continuous shape. By flipping the chair along the longitudinal axis the furniture changes its posture and appearance and unfolds its multiple applications. TriWing can be used as dining-chair, lounge-chair, reading-chair or deck-chair. The seat height of the various positions is related to the particular use.”

The TriWing chair itself aims at a playful use and produced in a digital workflow along from the design to production. With wooden materiality and tactile impression it gives perception that this is handmade chair. I am surprised how this chair actually can be made multifunction like becoming dining chair, lounge chair, reading chair or deck chair.
