Textile maintenance is very hard as it’s very delicate so here we are giving you some tips on how to take care for that textile at your home.

  • Store old textiles in dark and airy chest. You need to store that old textiles in dark and airy chest or cupboard, wrapped in acid free tissue paper. Never ever allow them to come in contact with bare, unvarnished wood.
  • Periodic fold and unfold. Periodically you need to unfold and refold them so that they do not wear along the creased lines.
  • Never place textile in direct sunlight. It’s highly important for you to not place that textiles under direct sunlight as the colors will fade and the fibers will deteriorate.
  • Wash with mild and pure soap. You need to wash your textiles, no matter classic, old or new one with mild and pure soap. DO not rub or soak them. Your local museum or historical society will be able to advise on the best methods of handling, washing, and conserving fabric heirlooms.
