It’s a stunning runaway residence, a perfect retreat house by the sea designed by Jarmund/Vigsnæs AS Architects and it is located in Vestfold, Norway. I loved the big river stones which stand out at this modern getaway home. This summer residence has elongated volume which is cut into to allow wind shielded outdoor areas which is embraced by the house itself. These cuts bring down the scale of the building along with local variations which make the building in correlation with the cliff formations.
You can enjoy the nice pool with a glass fence around the perimeter to protect yourself during the night dip from the cold sea breeze. This modern summer house is clad in Kebony wood, a sustainable process of treating the wood to give more durability towards the exposure of salt water. There’s nothing like spending the time during the night next to the beach with a nice hot vanilla tea.
